Custom Dining Tables - Vancouver

Jorey was very trustworthy and full of transparent conversation during the construction of our custom walnut table (with huge expansion capabilities for Christmas and such). We ordered via online, telephone without seeing him in person and he did 💯 - 5/07/2024 

I was moving into town and wanted to primarily use floor-based seating for my home office. It was tricky to find "off the shelf" tables that would work for my purposes (e.g., sitting cross-legged under the table) AND be ergonomic for my body size, so I decided to look into having a custom table set made (riser and nesting table). Jorey/Taitlin Studio was one of many recommendations on a Reddit post. I went through every recommended website/woodworker and landed on contacting Jorey because the site was informative and provided me with good expectations about: price, what styles are possible, what customization options are possible, wood/stain options, what the process of custom furniture is like, the studio's eco and sustainable practices, etc. Jorey also has a Youtube channel and seemed very friendly and willing to help/teach! I felt like I could lean on his expertise/knowledge. After reaching out by email, Jorey responded and we continued discussing details back/forth. I sent him some chicken scratch sketches of what I roughly had in mind, what I was trying to achieve, and he did a few SketchUp mockups to confirm dimensions and rough design. Once we agreed to a final look, he sent across the quote! Then I let him do his magic. Before adding the final touches, he gave me a call to make sure he understood how "rounded" I wanted the edges to be (as I would be leaning my forearms on the table). Then he sent me photos of the final tables and they're lovely and perfect for what I wanted to use them! I glad that we landed on a more "open" and natural look together. When I finally flew into town to move in, Jorey delivered the tables all the way up the condo to my unit. Thank you so much! Sorry for this very unaesthetic photo 🤣 - 9/13/2023 

From the time we walked in to Jordy's office to the great tour he gave us, it has been a great experience. We not only learned about our best options, we came out with the confidence that we chose the best table options and design for our home. Jordy kept us up to date as things moved along, was super responsive to any questions, and was extremely pleasant when he delivered the table and assembled the legs in our home. Jorey involved us in the process from the very beginning to the end product. He was very open to talking through options and asking us what we wanted. I really loved being able to select wood slabs from a tree that was cut down locally that would otherwise have likely gone to a wood chipper. We had lots of communication and photos sent throughout the process so we could ensure we were getting what we wanted. Now we have a stunning custom art piece as a dining table in our home! Jorey was amazing to work with he listened to my vision and brought it to life. He made my family a beautiful oversized farmhouse table.the quality is beyond anything you can buy in the stores. Jorey hand-crafted and installed new feet for our sofa and loveseat to our exacting specifications. And we are very pleased with the result. His woodwork is beautiful, showing the grain through dark stain which matches exactly the colour of our credenza and dining room table and chairs. While this was a relatively small job, I would have no hesitation in contracting him to create large pieces of furniture like a table or a sideboard. He is without doubt a highly professional, skilled craftsman. - 9/14/2022

we have 5 cutting boards a display board and a live edge coffee table and a lazy susan all beautiful and well made. Been using one of these boards every day and still like brand new . Does not show any knife marks at all after about a year of constant use. Love these boards. - 11/17/2021

Jorey has really high standards for his work. If he's not satisfied, he starts over and gets it right. Jorey's work is part of our house and yard because of all the work he did when we built our house. He created a custom stain for the stair treads he built so they matched the flooring we bought. He built the deck, the fence, and some planters. He also did some custom built-in woodwork for our entry bench. Would absolutely work with him again. - 1/26/2022
