Custom Wood Dining Tables in Alberta

I was moving into town and wanted to primarily use floor-based seating for my home office. It was tricky to find "off the shelf" tables that would work for my purposes (e.g., sitting cross-legged under the table) AND be ergonomic for my body size, so I decided to look into having a custom table set made (riser and nesting table). Jorey/Taitlin Studio was one of many recommendations on a Reddit post. I went through every recommended website/woodworker and landed on contacting Jorey because the site was informative and provided me with good expectations about: price, what styles are possible, what customization options are possible, wood/stain options, what the process of custom furniture is like, the studio's eco and sustainable practices, etc. Jorey also has a Youtube channel and seemed very friendly and willing to help/teach! I felt like I could lean on his expertise/knowledge. After reaching out by email, Jorey responded and we continued discussing details back/forth. I sent him some chicken scratch sketches of what I roughly had in mind, what I was trying to achieve, and he did a few SketchUp mockups to confirm dimensions and rough design. Once we agreed to a final look, he sent across the quote! Then I let him do his magic. Before adding the final touches, he gave me a call to make sure he understood how "rounded" I wanted the edges to be (as I would be leaning my forearms on the table). Then he sent me photos of the final tables and they're lovely and perfect for what I wanted to use them! I glad that we landed on a more "open" and natural look together. When I finally flew into town to move in, Jorey delivered the tables all the way up the condo to my unit. Thank you so much! Sorry for this very unaesthetic photo 🤣

Jorey has really high standards for his work. If he's not satisfied, he starts over and gets it right. Jorey's work is part of our house and yard because of all the work he did when we built our house. He created a custom stain for the stair treads he built so they matched the flooring we bought. He built the deck, the fence, and some planters. He also did some custom built-in woodwork for our entry bench. Would absolutely work with him again.

Jorey made my friend a stunning fireplace surround with a live edge, and a beautiful coffee table, also using a live edge. His work is gorgeous and I would love to get him to make something for me as well. The photos of her pieces are on his website. He is a very talented artist and I recommend him highly.

Jorey is amazing at his craft. His attention to detail is amazing. His creativity is endless. He was so easy to work with fast efficient and his products are always flawless. You can tell he he is passionate about what he does and creates. I have three awesome purchases from him already and I can see more in the future for sure.

Hi my name is Ron and I'm a DIY'er . I decided to make a live edge epoxy river table my first . Managed to build a leak proof mold with tips from Jorey's build videos (love your videos)but ran into issues with flatting the slab. I had reached out to Jorey about a month ago about a router sled and he said that he was in the process of making one. He reached out when his sled was ready prior to my issues.Anyway I dropped off the slab and he had it done in one day even though he had 2-3 projects on the go at the time great service tks Jorey.

I commissioned a piece from Jorey a few months ago and the final result was extraordinary. I loved how he asked lots of questions, kept me involved throughout the process from choosing the piece of wood to being clear about the exact colour I was looking for. He even chose to video some of the process so I could see what he was doing. Loved this and would recommend him to anyone looking for special, treasured pieces.
