Custom Wood Dining Tables in Alberta

I originally reached out to Jorey at Taitlin Studio looking for advice on building my own table, and he was incredibly generous with his time and knowledge right from the start. He answered all my questions, shared videos, and gave me all the information I needed. After realizing this was definitely a project better left to a professional, I decided to have him build it for me instead and I’m so glad I did.The entire process was fantastic from start to finish. Jorey helped me pick out the perfect wood, kept me updated with photos throughout the build, and was always easy to get ahold of whenever I had questions. Communication was excellent, the craftsmanship is amazing, and he delivered exactly when he said he would.You can tell Jorey genuinely cares about his work and his customers. I was moving into town and wanted to primarily use floor-based seating for my home office. It was tricky to find "off the shelf" tables that would work for my purposes (e.g., sitting cross-legged under the table) AND be ergonomic for my body size, so I decided to look into having a custom table set made (riser and nesting table). Jorey/Taitlin Studio was one of many recommendations on a Reddit post. I went through every recommended website/woodworker and landed on contacting Jorey because the site was informative and provided me with good expectations about: price, what styles are possible, what customization options are possible, wood/stain options, what the process of custom furniture is like, the studio's eco and sustainable practices, etc. Jorey also has a Youtube channel and seemed very friendly and willing to help/teach! I felt like I could lean on his expertise/knowledge. After reaching out by email, Jorey responded and we continued discussing details back/forth. I sent him some chicken scratch sketches of what I roughly had in mind, what I was trying to achieve, and he did a few SketchUp mockups to confirm dimensions and rough design. Once we agreed to a final look, he sent across the quote! Then I let him do his magic. Before adding the final touches, he gave me a call to make sure he understood how "rounded" I wanted the edges to be (as I would be leaning my forearms on the table). Then he sent me photos of the final tables and they're lovely and perfect for what I wanted to use them! I glad that we landed on a more "open" and natural look together. When I finally flew into town to move in, Jorey delivered the tables all the way up the condo to my unit. Thank you so much! Sorry for this very unaesthetic photo 🤣

My wife and I recently purchased a table from Jorey and we couldn’t be happier. The entire process was easy and stress free. We had the leg dimensions/angles built around our existing chairs. Which he confirmed with 3D models. When he delivered and set it up I realized that I hadn’t considered the width of the legs at the end of the table. Even though this was my oversight he insisted that he remedy this issue. He had the legs taken apart and reconstructed in one day. The table is gorgeous and Jorey is pleasure to deal with. We will be buying more pieces from him and have been recommending him to everyone we know.

I had previously met Jorey and been watching his videos on YouTube and absolutely loved his work. I decided I wanted to build a table for my daughter that was fairly straightforward.But the timing was not going to work as she had just bought a duplex and needed a dining room table.I had been to Jorey’s showroom and saw a table made out of walnut that I really liked. The design was simple and that was the table I was going to build.But I knew I couldn’t build it for a while so I texted Jorey and asked if he would sell me the table from the show room and he agreed.I had told my daughter I wouldn’t be able to build a table for a while. So I surprised her in Nanaimo with the table and she was beyond happy. She ordered chairs from wayfair and it looks greatShe has gotten lots of compliments on the table.So everything worked out thanks to Jorey

I commissioned Jorey to build me a cabinet for my coffee mug collection. He came over to take measurements and consider what other furniture I had so it was coordinate. It was well built and fits in perfectly! Thanks Jorey! Next project I’ll need help from you is study/desk area for my kids!

I ordered a custom epoxy coffee table from Jorey, and his craftsmanship is astounding. He found a beautiful sample of soft maple with distinctive grain that I was looking for, and was able to work with me easily to achieve the desired opacity of epoxy I requested. Jorey is very responsive to requests, and I would recommend him to anyone looking for custom fine furniture.
