Custom Wood Dining Tables in Alberta

Jorey involved us in the process from the very beginning to the end product. He was very open to talking through options and asking us what we wanted. I really loved being able to select wood slabs from a tree that was cut down locally that would otherwise have likely gone to a wood chipper. We had lots of communication and photos sent throughout the process so we could ensure we were getting what we wanted. Now we have a stunning custom art piece as a dining table in our home! Such a great experience, and really appreciated Jorey’s kind heart, attention to detail, and desire to get it just right for us! Definitely recommend!!

I was moving into town and wanted to primarily use floor-based seating for my home office. It was tricky to find "off the shelf" tables that would work for my purposes (e.g., sitting cross-legged under the table) AND be ergonomic for my body size, so I decided to look into having a custom table set made (riser and nesting table). Jorey/Taitlin Studio was one of many recommendations on a Reddit post. I went through every recommended website/woodworker and landed on contacting Jorey because the site was informative and provided me with good expectations about: price, what styles are possible, what customization options are possible, wood/stain options, what the process of custom furniture is like, the studio's eco and sustainable practices, etc. Jorey also has a Youtube channel and seemed very friendly and willing to help/teach! I felt like I could lean on his expertise/knowledge. After reaching out by email, Jorey responded and we continued discussing details back/forth. I sent him some chicken scratch sketches of what I roughly had in mind, what I was trying to achieve, and he did a few SketchUp mockups to confirm dimensions and rough design. Once we agreed to a final look, he sent across the quote! Then I let him do his magic. Before adding the final touches, he gave me a call to make sure he understood how "rounded" I wanted the edges to be (as I would be leaning my forearms on the table). Then he sent me photos of the final tables and they're lovely and perfect for what I wanted to use them! I glad that we landed on a more "open" and natural look together. When I finally flew into town to move in, Jorey delivered the tables all the way up the condo to my unit. Thank you so much! Sorry for this very unaesthetic photo 🤣

We were looking for a new dining room table and reached out to Jorey based on his reviews and the fact that he was based in Alberta. Through emails and one phone call we went through various custom options and ended up selecting one of the models listed on his website (the Column Table) in walnut. Communication was very good all along; the table is even better. He got it to us before Xmas (sorry for the delay on the review), which was amazing. Table was very carefully packaged. It’s been a lot more fun hosting people with such a beautiful table. Highly recommend!
