Warranty
Our goal is simple — build solid wood tables that last for decades. This warranty explains how we support that.
Taitlin Studio warrants that its tables will be free from defects in workmanship for two (2) years from the date of delivery.
If a defect in workmanship occurs during this period, Taitlin Studio will, at its discretion, repair, adjust, or replace the affected component at no additional cost to the original purchaser.
This warranty applies only to the original purchaser and covers normal residential use, unless otherwise specified in writing at the time of purchase.
Natural Characteristics of Solid Wood
Our tables are built from solid hardwood. Because wood is a natural material, certain changes and characteristics are expected over time.
These may include:
- Seasonal wood movement
- Small checks or hairline cracks
- Slight warping or expansion/contraction
- Colour changes due to aging and light exposure
- Natural grain variation, knots, mineral streaks, or other organic features
These characteristics are normal for solid wood furniture and are not considered defects.
Environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity, and sunlight can influence how wood behaves over time.
Warranty Limitations
This warranty does not apply to damage resulting from:
- Accidents or impacts
- Misuse or abuse
- Improper care or maintenance
- Exposure to extreme humidity or temperature conditions
- Chemical treatments, cleaning products, or protective coatings applied after delivery
- Modifications or alterations made by anyone other than Taitlin Studio
- Third-party delivery or transportation damage
Use of chemical treatments, coatings, or improper cleaning products may void the warranty.
The customer’s sole remedy under this warranty is repair or replacement of the affected component, at the discretion of Taitlin Studio.
Repairs or replacements do not extend the original warranty period.
Size & Dimensions
All Taitlin Studio pieces are handmade using natural materials.
As a result, final dimensions may vary slightly due to:
- Natural wood movement
- Material characteristics
- The handcrafted nature of each piece
Customers are responsible for confirming that the selected size and dimensions are appropriate for their space prior to ordering.
Appearance & Natural Variation
Each table we build is unique.
Because we work with real hardwood, the appearance of your table may vary from:
- showroom samples
- photographs
- previously built pieces
Wood may contain natural features such as:
- knots
- small cracks or checks
- mineral streaks
- gum pockets
- colour variation
- distinctive grain patterns
These features are part of what makes solid wood furniture unique and are not considered defects.
Over time, wood will naturally change colour as it ages and reacts to light exposure.
Wood Movement & Environmental Care
Solid wood furniture responds naturally to changes in humidity and temperature.
To help ensure the long-term stability of your table, we recommend maintaining indoor humidity levels between 35% and 55% throughout the year.
Extremely dry or humid environments can cause excessive wood movement, which may lead to:
- small cracks or checks
- separation at joints
- warping or cupping
These conditions are related to environmental factors and are not considered defects in workmanship.
To protect your furniture, we recommend:
- Maintaining stable indoor humidity
- Avoiding placement directly next to heating vents, radiators, or fireplaces
- Avoiding prolonged exposure to direct sunlight
- Using coasters and placemats for hot or wet items
With proper care and a stable environment, solid hardwood furniture can last for generations.
Liquids & Surface Protection
Your table is finished with a durable protective coating designed for everyday use. However, like all wood furniture, the surface is not completely waterproof.
Prolonged exposure to liquids or moisture may cause damage to the finish or wood beneath.
To protect your table, we recommend:
• Wiping up spills promptly
• Avoiding standing water or prolonged moisture exposure
• Using coasters, placemats, and trivets for drinks, plants, and hot dishes
Damage caused by prolonged exposure to liquids, moisture, or heat is considered normal wear and is not covered under warranty.
Refund Policy
We take great care in crafting every piece and want you to be happy with your table.
Upon delivery, please inspect your furniture and notify us promptly if there are any concerns.
If the product delivered does not match the specifications agreed upon in your order, Taitlin Studio will review refund requests submitted within seven (7) days of delivery. A restocking fee may apply.
Because each piece is built specifically for the customer, returns are not accepted on custom orders.
