Our Story and Team
Jorey Klein – Founder/Craftsman
Located in Nisku, Alberta, Taitlin Studio was founded in 2017 by Jorey Klein. Known for his rich expertise in woodworking and carpentry, Jorey started his journey in the most humble manner—hammering nails into wood as a child and spending endless hours assisting his father on construction sites. His hands-on learning expanded through years of home renovation and then into a specialized path with over nine years in fine woodworking.
Jorey’s true passion for crafting custom dining tables and kitchen tables ignited when he was in search of high-quality, solid wood furniture for his new home. While he admired the craftsmanship in upscale furniture stores, he found a gap in the market for modern and contemporary solid wood tables. His initial steps into fine woodworking began with crafting smaller items like cutting boards and serving trays. As his skill set grew, so did the complexity of his projects, evolving into the handmade, custom wooden tables that Taitlin Studio is known for today. Driven by a commitment to constant improvement, Jorey pours both intellect and craftsmanship into each dining table, making each a piece of functional art.
A naturally creative individual, Jorey looks forward to collaborating with you on your next piece of custom furniture. His goal is to create something not just beautiful and functional, but a piece that will be part of your home for generations to come.
Toby – Chief Moral Office/Door Greeter
Toby is the most welcoming face you’ll encounter when you step into our workshop! With wagging tail and playful eyes, he’s eager to become your new best friend right from the get-go.
Born in 2022 on the Sunshine Coast, Toby is a miniature poodle adorned with unique phantom coloring. His days are filled with joy, whether he’s tugging at his toys, gnawing on bones, socializing with other canines, or soaking up all the pets and cuddles he can get from visitors like you.
Known affectionately by a range of nicknames—lil’ Pup, Schnitzel Pup, and The Little Boy to name a few—his formal name is Jatoba, named after a South American tree. Holding the esteemed title of Chief Morale Officer, Toby lifts spirits in a number of delightful ways. Whether it’s keeping Jorey company on the workbenches as he crafts custom dining tables, playfully nibbling on wood scraps, stashing pig ears in mounds of sawdust, or adorably rolling onto his back for some much-desired belly rubs, Toby adds a touch of warmth and joy to the atmosphere.
