Welcome to Taitlin Studio
At Taitlin Studio, we build custom dining tables designed for real life — weeknight dinners, big family holidays, homework sessions, coffee with friends.
Based in Nisku, Alberta, we work with clients across the province to create solid wood tables that fit naturally within the room and feel comfortable to use every day.
We build in Walnut, White Oak, Maple, Cherry, and Red Oak, selecting boards for their natural character and finishing them in a way that lets the wood speak for itself.
Our Story and Team
Taitlin Studio was built with a clear focus: create solid wood dining tables that feel right in the room and work in everyday life.
What began as a small workshop has grown into a dedicated custom shop in Nisku, Alberta, serving clients across the province. We focus on a narrow range of hardwoods — Walnut, White Oak, Maple, Cherry, and Red Oak — and build each table to suit the space it’s going into.
Our approach is simple:

Jorey Klein – Founder / Craftsman
Jorey founded Taitlin Studio in 2017 after recognizing how restrictive typical furniture options could be. Many tables felt close — right in one way, but off in another, whether in size, style, or color. It didn’t make sense to him that something as central as a dining table should require that kind of compromise.
He set out to build them differently — offering flexibility in size, wood species, tone, and base style so each table could be tailored to the space.
Over the years, Jorey has built hundreds of custom dining tables for homes across Alberta. That experience has shaped his eye for detail, wood selection, and long-term durability. From selecting boards with the right grain character to refining joinery and finish details, his standards have been refined through repetition, problem-solving, continual improvement and steady work in the shop.
Toby – Chief Morale Officer / Door Greeter
Toby was born in 2022 on the Sunshine Coast and is a miniature poodle with distinctive phantom coloring. Friendly and highly social, he takes his role as shop greeter seriously and is usually the first to introduce himself when someone walks through the door.
Formally named Jatoba — after the South American hardwood — Toby answers to a number of nicknames around the shop. He splits his time between supervising builds, chewing on wood scraps, keeping Jorey company in the shop, and making sure visitors don’t leave without offering a proper belly rub.
Curious, people-oriented, and always friendly, Toby has become a steady part of the Taitlin Studio experience. If you stop by to talk about your dining table, there’s a good chance he’ll want to be part of the conversation.
Our Values
Function First
A dining table has to work before it can impress. We consider how chairs tuck in, where knees land, how people move around the room, and whether the size truly fits. Comfort and usability matter just as much as appearance.
Built to Last
We build with solid hardwood and time-tested construction methods that allow the table to hold up to daily life and years of use — not be replaced in a few seasons.
Honest Guidance
We don’t recommend something simply because it looks impressive. If a different size, layout, or wood choice will serve your space better long term, we’ll say so. Clear expectations and straightforward communication are part of the process.
Respect for the Material
Every board has its own grain, tone, and character. We work with the natural qualities of the wood rather than trying to hide them, allowing each table to feel authentic and unique.

Every table begins with a conversation.
We start by understanding your space — room size, seating goals, surrounding finishes, and how you actually use the table day to day.
From there, we confirm:
- Dimensions that fit the room
- Wood species that complements the space
- Base style that supports comfortable seating
- Clear pricing before anything moves forward
Once approved, your table is built in our Nisku shop and coordinated for delivery or pickup.
